"So institutions might land on a spectrum between being like, ambivalent of their HSI identity, and then being conscious. When I spoke to faculty members, I found out that it really wasn't that simple. And I was using org culture, but I was also bringing in feminist theory, and the theory around borderlands, and it made me sort of push against what I was doing, which was like creating a duality, this Western duality between conscious and not conscious of the HSI designation. And so this is kind of where, even like my border consciousness comes into play, because it reminded me to embrace the in between, to embrace the liminal spaces."
